Tom studied music at the University of York specialising in performance, violin and bassoon and Community Music. In 2015, Tom continued his studies at the University of Cambridge gaining a PGCE in Secondary Music from Homerton College.
Tom currently works at the Hertfordshire & Essex High School teaching Music and Drama.
Musical Director projects include “Into The Woods” (CHMS University Of York), “Rent” (NUE Music Theatre), “The Phantom Of The Opera” & Spring Awakening” (York Stage Musicals), “Ghost The Musical” (Pick Me Up Theatre), “Oliver” (New Earswick Music Society), Musical Theatre Showcase Concerts (Herts & Essex), Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge (Pheonix Theatre Arts), “High School Musical” (BSMTC Youth) and “Hairspray” (BSMTC Youth).
Gemma was the Director of BSMTC Youth’s production of Legally Blonde and will bring her exceptional talents to Bishops Stortford Academy of Performing Arts on a consultancy basis. Gemma is Head of Expressive Arts at a local Hertfordshire school; therefore most of her time is spent directing the pupils! Gemma was a member of Full Circle Theatre Company and Rare Productions before pursuing her teaching career.
Thereafter has been apart of PBTC and HD&OS amateur dramatic companies. Her Favourite roles to date include Betty’s minder/Puppeteer in Betty Blue Eyes, Julia Gulia in The Wedding Singer, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Susan in Calamity Jane, Sarah and Angie in Our House HD&OS and PBTC, Nancy, Oliver and Bet in Oliver, Fizzy in Bugsy Malone, Mama Euralie in Once on this Island, Eldest Magician in Just So, Judy in A Chorus Line, Narrator in Joseph and the Technicolor Dream coat, Molly in Annie, Clover in Animal Farm, Aladdin in Aladdin, Young Jacob Marley in Mrs Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge and many more… Gemma hopes you enjoy the show!
Aside from performing and teaching, Gemma’s favourite directing/producing roles to date include Bugsy Malone, Seussical, High School Musical, Oliver, Teechers and many musical reviews and concerts.
Working as a freelance musician, Keith has recently started plying his trade in musical theatre; acting as Musical Director, rehearsal pianist and pit musician for a wide number of productions – most recently as MD for Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society’s production of “Made in Dagenham” and playing in the pit for BSMTC’s “Sister Act” last year.
Having studied Classical Trumpet at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he now holds a residency at the Simon Balle Music Centre in Hertford, whilst still working as a regularly performing musician. He has prior history with “Legally Blonde” having been in the orchestra for HD&OS’s 2016 production, however he has relished the opportunity to tackle this show as Musical Director with this vibrant, energetic and talented company.
Chloe-Lee has been performing since the age of 8 after joining The Valle Academy of Performing Arts where she has performed in various dance shows, musicals and professional pantomimes (with Paul Holman Associates). The list is endless but to name a few were ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Back to the Eighties’.
She studied dance throughout school and then went onto college and qualified with a Distinction BTEC National Diploma in Dance. She has performed and danced with various companies including Mayhem Theatre Arts (The Addams Family) and Impress Theatre Arts. She has choreographed and danced in ‘Hairspray’, ‘Hot Mikado’ and ‘Aladdin’ for East Herts Operatic Society (EHOS) and Cheshunt Dramatic Society. Most recently was being choreographer for EHOS’ production of ‘American Idiot’ at the Spotlight Theatre late last year. She has been Dance Captain and Troupe Leader for too many performances to mention.
Grant joins the team of Bishops Stortford Academy of Performing Arts bringing his passion and knowledge of theatre to the company. Grants responsibilities are Co-Director and coordinating Licenced Chaperones for our productions as he is licenced with Hertfordshire County Council.
Grant was a performing member of Coventry Youth Operetta Group at Eden Theatre for eight years and performed in, My Fair Lady, Grease, O’ What A Lovely War, Me & My Girl, Half A Sixpence, George M, Blitz, Westside Story, Return To The Forbidden Planet and Our House.
Grant is currently the Treasurer of BSMTC Youth and has assisted with the productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical, Legally Blonde & Hairspray.
Cat Quigley is delighted to be joining BSMTC Juniors as Director after being in the adult group, Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company (BSMTC) for over ten years.
Cat has enjoyed various roles such as Costume Manager, PR and Marketing Manager, Committee Social Secretary, writing shows, directing for BSMTC and of course playing many chorus and character roles, so will be able to bring a vast knowledge and enthusiasm to BSMTC Youth.
As well as BSMTC, Cat is an active member other Bishop’s Stortford drama groups and has recently had two of her plays she wrote, performed with Contexture and at Theatre In The Fields. She also enjoys acting with Water Lane Theatre Company.
Cat has a BA in Media Performance from Salford University where she specialised in Theatre Performance and Scriptwriting, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a further Digital Marketing qualification in PR and Marketing. Professionally she works as a PR and Marketing Specialist and has worked at the BBC, Virgin Atlantic and now specialises in beauty and tanning with JK Beauty. Cat is also a Spotlight member and regularly attends RADA and theatre workshops to keep practising her love of acting.
Cat has an enhanced DBS check and official Chaperone License from Hertfordshire Council and has previously enjoyed chaperoning the members of BSTMC Youth group.
Cat is looking forward to working with this new Bishops Stortford Academy of Performing Arts group and hopes to inspire, energise and get the best out of the young performers of tomorrow! Most of all she hopes to show that drama is fun and a great confidence booster for any child.
Danielle started dancing at the age of 3. She then furthered her training at Harlow College and then completed a Diploma in Musical Theatre & Dance Performance at The Centre PAC.
Since graduating in 2014 she has had the privilege of working as a Dancer/Model for the Ski & Snowbard Fashion Show, Dancer for Jason Derulo on The X Factor Semi Finals, Dancer/Singer for P&O Ferries, Dancer/Ensemble in Peter Pan 2016 for Evolution Productions, Dancer/Choreographer for Jasmin Walia’s new music video “Bom Diggy”, Dancer for Camila Cabello on MTV EMA’s 2017 & Dancer on The X Factor Finale 2017, Jingle Bell Ball 2018 and Top of the Pops Christmas special 2018 for Jax Jones.
Danielle has open regular slots at Pineapple Dance Studios, BASE studios and teaches for a company called At Your Beat. She also teaches at Harlow College.
Having just graduated with a First Class BA Hons degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre from the internationally renowned Urdang Academy, Maisie is thrilled to be joining BSMTC as their Musical Theatre Coach – having grown up in Bishops Stortford it will be a pleasure for her to work with students to help and inspire them reach their potential.
Her most recent role, Belle, in Bishops Stortford’s very own pantomime Beauty and the Beast 2018/2019 was a joy for Maisie to play as she hopes to inspire young audiences with her performance. It was a delight for her to be able to return to the stage that first sparked her ambition to become a professional performer.
Other 2017/18 musical theatre credits include Grace Poole / Dance Captain in Jane Eyre and Beryl / Voice Captain in Made in Dagenham; featured vocalist in the 2017 and 2018 Showcases (all Urdang); dancer for rapper/singer Will.i.am and dancer/backing vocalist on The Voice Kids UK Final (ITV).
Marie-Louise has trained in dancing from the age of two. When she was 17 she won a scholarship to attended Tiffany Theatre College, which she trained in Musical Theatre and graduated with a 3 year Diploma. From graduating in 2012 Marie-Louise went on to work for Disney Land Paris as a Character Performer and Parade Dancer, danced for the FA Cup Final half time show at Wembley Stadium and Women’s Championship Final.
Marie-Louise performed on the One Show (BBC) which was choreographed by Arlene Phillips. Among other TV performances, dancing and singing contracts, Marie-Louise also work for Warner Leisure Hotels for 2 years as a Dancer/Singer, where she was made Dance Captain for the team.
Marie-Louise now works as a Wedding Planner but still has love and passion for Dancing and Musical Theatre.
Liz has loved performing, singing and dancing since she was little. At the age of 10 Liz started training in the styles of ballet, tap and modern at the Graham School Of Dance, which is where her passion for dance was found.
At the age of 11 Liz was cast a a “Snow Child” in BSMTC’s musical hit Carousel at Rhodes Theatre and so her love and membership of BSMTC began. From there Liz joined BSMTC Youth and has appeared in Grease, Wizard Of Oz, Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical and Legally Blonde playing her first lead role. In March 2019 Liz will be performing with BSMTC Youth in their production of Hairspray.
Continuing her passion of dance as a student at the House Of Shades Dance developing styles of ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and her favourite style commercial.
Liz is currently at Harlow College undertaking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts. During her spare time attends Pineapple and BASE Studios.
Natasha started dancing at the age of 6 at Jenny Myhill School of Dance, learning Street, Contemporary & Ballet contributing to the dance shows. She then joined BSMTC Youth in 2016 as part of the company and has performed in their productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical and Legally Blonde.
Natasha continues dance classes at The House Of Shades Dance school and is currently undertaking a dance course at Harlow College.
Alfie joined BSMTC Youth at the age of 12 and has sung, danced and acted in Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical, Legally Blonde and 2019’s production of Hairspray. Alfie holds LAMDA acting grade 5 and has been in plays and shows since the age of 6. He also stared in a one-off performance in the West End in 2014.
Alfie enjoys working within a leadership environment with children and is a Platinum Ambassador for Herts Sports Partnership. Alfie enjoys working with a younger audience at Bishops Stortford Academy of Performing Arts, helping and supporting them towards the shows and workshops.
We are delighted to have Sharon as Head Of Costumes bringing her experience and team to the company, to create the Directors vision for our productions.
With a keen eye for detail and great planning ability Sharon heads the costume department.
Sharon is a Licenced Chaperone with Hertfordshire County Council and is our dedicated Child Protection Officer and trained in First Aid. Sharon is a member of BSMTC Youth and Head of Wardrobe and has been involved in the productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, High School Musical, Legally Blonde and Hairspray.
Having trained at top make up academy Greasepaint by Christine Vidler, Shaunna Harrison and Liz Tag, Siannen regularly works for Miami Pro, Top Model UK and creates many beautiful brides. She has also recently worked on a top Bollywood movie.
Siannen enjoyed working with both BSMTC and BSMTC youth and now Bishops Stortford Academy of Performing Arts. She is available for photoshoots, bridal, special occasions and theatre and can adapt her skill set to makeup of any kind.
Mark Fitzgerald – Production Manager
Mark was performing on stage from a young age in productions such as Half a Sixpence, Me and My Girl, Oliver and Wizard of Oz. He delighted the Royal Family in the Royalty Theatre in London as a champion tap dancer.
Since retiring from performing, Mark moved backstage to Production Management and Stage Management, and has been the linchpin of BSMTC Youth for an entire decade, bringing the stage to life with rain, life-size cars and pyrotechnics and ignoring the old adage of never working with child or animals!
Mark has infinite patience and has enjoyed seeing cast members move from the company to professional theatre.
William Nash – Company Director
Our Director Will’s assists the team with the day to running of the Company providing support and marketing. Having recently obtained a Distinction* in Business and two A’s in Finance.
Will’s is looking forward to working with the team to provide the highest opportunity possible to our members in taking part in professionally staged productions.
With an energetic and enthusiastic approach Will’s is looking to develop the Company to being the best opportunity for our members to take their first steps onto the stage.
Matthew Nash – Producer & Production Coordinator
Having been the Chairman of BSMTC Youth (community company) since 2014, Matthew is responsible for co-coordinating membership, contracts, staff hire and production assistance, drawing on the skills and knowledge obtained developing BSMTC Youth.
With a vast network of contacts throughout the industry, Matthew is keen to provide a unique opportunity to young people looking to obtain a proper theatre experience.
Debbie Snook – Marketing & Data Protection Officer
As the owner of marketing & web agency Think Creativ, Debbie Snook CMI bring years of marketing experience to the Company. In her capacity as our Data Protection Officer she ensures all the personal data collected from our members is stored securely.
Debbie has undertaken the marketing of BSMTC Youth for the last 4 years, looking after the websites, social media, producing the programmes and marketing collateral .
